I just drove down Kilby Street and counted 6 brand new foundations and a couple other lots being prepared for more housing. On one hand we are giving Main South CDC monies to subsidize the sale of their houses, while they keep building more houses?
I wonder if these CDC's are mandated by REO ordinace to only hire certain "prevaling Wage" contractors.........if not.......then how can the 10 "labor friendly councillors" stand while this injustice happens??? I figure if they have to pay more for labor.......they'll have less money to build with.....unless Havana Jim gets them even more money to pay the higher wages

ReplyDeleteThe CDC's are not subject to the REO ordinance, they only need to get three bids and they are not required to go with the lowest bid.
Ironically the same contractor seems to be the only one who "wins" these bids?
Are you telling me that labor friendly McGovern & Rushton & Murray are not requiring prevailing wages for these low income housing projects?
ReplyDeleteThis is blasphomous !!!!!!
Wonder why the CDC's get a break from prevailing wage & REO type laws...they're using public funds
Again these pols talk the talk and walk the walk only if doesnt hurt their low income housing pimp pals
