Read through it briefly. The one that jumps out at me is seeking special legislation to tax 4 units or more of residential housing at a commercial rate. Bad enough we have a dual tax rate:
- Commericial
- Residential
Now we in essence will be having three three classes
- Commericial
- Residential (3 units or less)
- Residential (4 units of more)
Let me ask stupid question, why should a 2 or 3 unit residential be considered residential, but once you hit 4 now it is commercial???
in Somerville I have to pay a added trash pick-up fee on my seven unit property...do people generate more trash if they live in a residential building that is larger than a three unit
ReplyDeleteYeah that 4 unit mark seemed more political than anything. So many triple deckers in Worcester, a sizable opposition might materialize!
ReplyDeleteResidential should be broken up by owner occupancy status rather than by units.
Nick:
ReplyDeleteThank you....
This will never get approved under special legislation. Complete waste of time.
