Allegiant Expands In Bangor, Maine

Please note link to a story that Allegiant will be adding a weekly flight for Spring Break from Bangor to Sanford. Can not help but remember the excuse Allegiant left ORH because their planes were inefficient on fuel and could not make monies from ORH-Sanford.

Looks like Allegiant must be doing well here and the flight has to be, at least, 200 miles longer each way?

Yep, do you think that Bangor might face the same situation as Worcester did?

Dave, I do not think so. If they were not doing well in Bangor, they would have ended service like they did at ORH. Instead they are increasing service.

here I go again!!!!!.......You really want to put thsi in perspective.............look at the millions in handouts & subsidies that we have given to the new threatre......then think about the small handout that would have been nec. to keep Allg here........probably only waiving the jet fuel tax.............and..........Allg'smarket presence would benefit many, many more Worc. people than The Hand It Over Theatre ........as the theatres target audience is a much narrower slice of the Worc population..............esp when and you consider that to be successful, the theatre will have to draw from primarliy outside of Worc........yet Worc's taxpayers are the ones ponying up a huge buffet of freebies for the theatre.

So much for the ......

Worc Center(for)Performing Arts

a.k.a. WCPA

"We Cannot Pay Assessments"

BTW i think i see how this whole thing is set up ???....a private real estate for profit entity owns the real est .............and the operating "business"....i.e. the theatre......the operating "business" is non profit.....this is a very common org. set-up in for profit enitities.........to put the real est in a separate entity.

So if a landlord rents his old west side victorian to a non profit group home......can he successfully come to city council and request a 7 year TIF....for all the upgrades the non profits will make as part of its tenant fit up....Never happen
