This parcel s/b part of the South Worc Industrial park. Put the bus co garage there......maybe the long proposed new DPW garage, too. Maybe increase bridge clearances int he immediate area, too.

And how dare you call working class housing ($1150/mo) no income/low income housing :)

My annual POV on summaaaah jobs follows. Why cant we make summer jobs or at least some summer jobs exempt from the following:

a. Minimum wages laws
b. Social Sec tax
c. Medicare tax
d. unemployment taxes
e. workmens comp.
f. Mimimum age laws

IMNOSHO, this would increase the number of available summaaah jobs by 50%.

If I was kid today , I'd certainly love a job at $6.00 per hour vs. no job at $10 per hour.

How would you any of you feel if you were 14 or 15 years old today and chillin' all summer doing nothing. Hang around all day at $-0- per hour or do some work at $6.00 per hour?

Now at 14 yrs old I was luggin' 2 super duty golf bags 18 holes for $6.00 at Tatnuck (women were ++++ty tippers [and ++++ty golfers]). $7.00 if it was men golfers. :)

With all the crazy weather patterns of the last week or so, no mention of the tornado of June 9, 1953 in todays T&G? Maybe I missed it?

I completely agree with your assessment of no/lo housing! Frankly, I haven't been able to figure out what Main South CDC does exactly, it seems to lend its initials to the work of other groups, and to advertise the Kilby street condos at $120k ad nauseum...

Speaking of apartments; is there any "word on the street" on what is holding up the former Lincoln Sq. Boys Club redevelopment into market rate housing? IIRC, construction was supposed to start earlier this spring.

So now the city is holding another meeting with city residents re the closing of part of Downing St strictly to benefit Clark University.

So if many area residents show up and express dissatifaction.............what diff will it make........this deal w/ Clark was sealed months ago.......now they want input from city residents???? HUH????

Remember now the hill on the short section of Downing St makes things dangerous for pedestrians. ...sooooooooo ..... OK re construct the street or have Clark pay a detail cop to supervise pedestrain activity on the street. Shall we soon close Belmont st too b/c teh hill there is longer, steeper, more heavily traveled, and more dangerous...........plus the elementary schools KIDs are so endangered there.

City residents are not mushrooms and this entire procedure is an insult to the intelligence of even Pajama people.

BTW will the Exececutive Office of Neighborhood Services be there to speak on behalf of the neighborhood...or Main South CDC.....or Worc. Common Grds?
