Allegiant August flights for the remainder of the month all have at least 9 available seats. I honestly thought with all the problems in Boston that we would sell out all of these flights for the month of August, which would have maybe made Allegiant think twice about dropping to two flights per week the last week of August.

we need to get another destination added if we are going to do some buisness...think of it...how many people actually travel to Orlando on a normal week?? think about it...The only time a large amount of people travel to Orlando is during either the school vacations of February or April..
when i say we need a new destination i dont mean St. Petes..or any other one in Florida for that matter...lets see something like Dallas or Detroit or Chicago, or something besides Florida!
Other secondary airports who have been able to make a comeback like Rockford have started with the second-tiers carriers with leisure flights to Florida. Once they established that they can support these flights, they have been able to attract Northwest to Detroit (which failed) and United to Denver (that is doing well).
John, my fear is that we have not show the support to Allegiant that carriers like NorthWest and United may be looking for. You are right again when you say February and April are most likely the peak months, but with the problems in Boston and the great prices with Allegiant these flights should be packed.
My hope was that Allegiant would have sold out all their flights this month, not cut-back to two flights and other carriers would have noticed. This does not look to be the case.
The demand for Orlando is low this time of year-you guys are right. My point is that with all the problems in Boston, however, we should have picked up some passengers and filled these planes. If we had filled them then maybe a Spirit Airlines would have thought about a Myrtle flight out of ORH??
Just think this was huge opportunity for ORH, that may have been missed.
Cape Air has been brought up before and for whatever reason they were not interested? Keep in mind that the $100,000 report from IMG recommended Cape Air as one of the six airlines that we should pursue.
Since that time we have spent another $100,000 to IMG to help us recruit airlines. One would assume IMG would have talked to them since Cape Air was one of their 6 airlines that they recommended.
At this point we have no idea if this ever happened or what the status may be of any talks. Lastly Cape Air would be looking towards ORH as an Island route (Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard) in the Spring/Summer months so 2006 is out of the question.
Also keep in mind that Linear has a Nantucket/Vineyard route out of Hanscom, maybe we should talk to them about their VLJ's for people to charter and an actual route to the Islands for 2007.
As for the latest security procedures at the different airports, is their a way that we can find out if the smaller airports have had an increase of passenger's? I did not think that we would've seen an dramatic increase of pax's out of ORH with the recent security measures.
Now if these security measures were to last a lot longer, then yes, Worcester will most likely see an increase of passengers. One thing though, most passenger's traveling to Florida, want to land at MCO, not SAN. And as discussed, Worcester must have more destinations to choose from.

oppurtunities missed...seems like a common trend with ORH...thanks to managment...Waldron, Niddrie...they need to be fired and replaced...
