The whole point of this story is that the votes of these people did not count! What the City of Worcester should do in cases like this is tell the people on these two streets that they have 2 or 3 years to get their private road in better conditions. If they don't do it, then make it public.

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize the city was taking the street, repairing it, and sending the residents a bill.
Who "owns" the land under the street right now? Will someone sign a deed granting ownership to the city, or is the city simply taking it?
Sounds like those opposing the conversion could contact a lawyer and file an injunction.
