I do not think it is a good idea for ORH either... Trying to show how other airports have come up with creative ideas to make their airports survive.
Worcester Business Journal has a good story on smaller airports in this issue. ORH needs to come up with a theme:
1) airport to go to if you want to go to Florida
2) NYC shuttle
3) home for VLJ's like Linear.
Falmouth has come up with home on the airport, we need to come up with a theme for ORH.

I applaude your efforts. Thinking outside the box often times creates huge success. Trouble is change would threaten the existing status quo. But that's life. As an owner of my own business, I learned early on about accountability. Selling ORH makes sense. Better to make some revenue, than to operate at a deficit. Massport for good or worse has the strong arm to divert flights to ORH and update and expand facilities as needed. If we still have one airline (hopefully) after the Fall meeting then the burden of operating costs should be passed on to the airport tenants and not the taxpayers.
