- Gas prices are way too high
- Airplanes avoiding gassing up at ORH
- US Air Express pulled out of ORH because of SwissPort
Since we have availabe parcels, why can't an RFP be put out for another FBO??? Check out this story on Million Air:

Would you fly million air? If you have the money, you can. Million Air has landed at Albany International Airport, and what better place to celebrate than at the Million Air terminal. The terminal is set apart from the main terminal and serves business jets and aircrafts flying in and out of the Capital Region.
The flying experience is a bit different with members of the staff acting as a conduit between flyers and the city. Staffers make it a point to familiarize their guests with whichever city they're staying in and pay close attention to any concerns they may have at the end of their trip. It's all about customer service and satisfaction.
Million Air is based out of Texas and now has more than 30 sites across the US. Now since it's called Million Air, all flyers are treated as such, and are even give a lotto ticket when they board.

Just to give you any indication of Swissport, they have been without 100ll for a week and Amity flight school has had to refuel its aircraft in Fitchburg
Wouldn't have fuel be the main job of the FBO??? If this is true, it does not seem like it is very customer friendly for someone to fly into ORH??
Can this really be true??
It 's not 100% true. The manager of Swissport is punishing the owner of Amity. He is asking for cash up front for all the fuel he buys. So Amity is telling people that they have no fuel. In the end it's cheaper for Amity to fly somewhere else.
Well if someone wsa too far behind, I do not blame SwissPort for cutting off the credit. It is cheaper to fly to Fitchburg and gas up???
Depending on size airplane but it is hundreds of dollars cheaper anywhere else in the state. The bigger the plane the more fuel it holds. Therefore the more money saved. And it's not just a credit thing. The WAPA pilots won't bitch because it's easier to just leave and go base their plane somewhere else.

If the Worcester Pilots will not fight for the airport, why should any of us concerned tax-payers???
Bill
You get tired of fighting after 30 years!
Steve:
Sorry our premise here is to make ORH a better place, so people do not leave the airport. If local pilots do not fight to make ORH a better place, who will??
Bill
The city should if they want to have an airport. Steve is right. Customers should not have to fight to keep the store they like open. The airport is a business.
big red:
The airport is not run like a business. How many businesses do you know that can lose millions of dollars every yeat and make no changes??
If Worcester area pilots do not want to get invloved to make changes at ORH, I do not see how anyone can believe GA business can survive here either?
There are lots of businesses that loss millions of dollars a year and don't change. But maybe that's the problem. The airport needs to look at it like a business.
Big Red:
Take a look at ORH's financials the last 6 years. Take away MassPort subsidy and there aren't any businesses that would survive that.
