These guys are really starting to bother me. From our friend at the Rockford Register, Tom Bona, read this. Starting in June two flights per week from Rockford to Ireland.

Anyone know what's going on at 500 lincoln st...........opposite lincoln plaza...............the old Holiday Inn............in the last few days $52,325 of comm. real estate tax revenue was just destroyed (razed).........hopefully new structures are planned there???.........appears to be no apparent recent change in ownership....maybe once razed............new prospective owners will be taking it over with immediate plans for the site....

on the other hand almost next door to this site is fair amt of comm. space that has sat vacant for at least 10 yrs.......Former Shaws/Food Warehouse

hopefully tax revenue from new constr will exceed tax revenue lost when structures are razed this year........

In WoMag read the story about the empty nursing home that is paying $20,000 per month to the landlord. The tenant is knocking down the building even though they will continue to pay $20,000 per month to rent through 2015.

ANother $25,000 per year in lost tax revenues. Maybe some of these businesses find it more economical to knock the building down to save monies on taxes, not to mention the cost to insure an empty building.

Then from there they will try to market the parcel for development. In the meantime the City of Worcester is out $77,000 per year on these two parcels.

A vacant commercial building pays little or no taxes.

Bill...DAMMIT....... ya stole my thunder for a post this weekend.

Babs Haller opens her mouth and viola the city is screwed of 25K annual tax revenues.

That will learn ya a lesson......threaten to "go public"...& shoot your mouth off....and think you're going back someone into a corner...........be careful......monied real estate interests will clean your clock....unlike small landlords who make easy prey

You got away with it over on Pleasant St at West St 2-3 summers ago........even made the papers......with Code & police over there

Meanwhile certain other developers........near Piedmont/MAin St make a god dam mess of their site........and not a word is spoken. Wonder why??

Whats next move......take the nursing home site by eminent domain so Main South CDC or Worc Common Ground or certain other favored private dev'ers can erect 101 units of housing on a lot meant for 8 or 10 townhouses........or Maybe cLARK CAN use the site as a social sciences /real life learninging labratory?

Did Barabara go after Main South CDC (or who ever owned the site) when they let the old Rice Barton building (which occupied an entire cty block) fall into a complete state of dis repair....for how many years....4 or 5??

Good thing Morgan Constr aint in Babs district.....they'd be packing their suitcases w/o re: to threats of "going public"
