The group was initiated in 2004 and has hosted 3 meetings since then, including a planning meeting to gain concensus on the South Worcester NRSA application. The South Worcester Business Council is an initiative that is alread in place to help advance the plans for the strategy area. The South Worcester NRSA decision making will primarily be made among this group, with input fromo the South Worcester Neighborhood Center who represents the neighborhood's voice......

The NRSA Advisory Committee and Planning Team will formed within the South Worcester Business Council...

Decision making for longer term development projects will also be done through the South Worcester Business Council

any word when we will hear about why the other NRSA groups have not spent the money or if they have where it was spent?

I agree with you completely, we need to stop attracting lowlifes to worcester. On another note, you previously posted about citysquare demolition. I read that Unum is working with ADD Inc, on the design development of their new building and expect this phase to be done by the end of 9/09. i tried to find the article i read but i can't locate it. After the design development is completed they intend to sign the final lease agreement with Berkley and then demolotion can begin.

It should be very simple for the other four NRSA's to submit an accounting of how they spent our tax monies. Would expect it if not the next, definately the one after that.

I am really peeved at this to be quite honest with you Wild Will..all of this money not being spent and the stats being presented to us that 25% of the city is below the poverty level...either there is some chicanery on-going or the folks over seeing the program are not qualified to be doing so...Main South loked like a shite hole this summer...and with the Main South CDC being part of the NRSA Program it should have shined...

Our summer youth employment crew worked Main South yesterday and today and at lunch today all they did was talk about the prostitutes that aprioached them....Chandler is not far removed from that scene..224 Chandler & 8-10 Winfield are Main South scenes as far as I am concerned...

WE need to ush for this accounting...and sooner than later as far as I am concerned..

You should be... In fact I don't think the South Worcester NRSA should have gotten any monies until they established a South Worcester Business Council as they said that they would in their application.

Ironically I met with Councilor Haller today and her and I have a list of people already and we are going to form a South Worcester Business Council and create the same success as has been done on Chandler Street.

In fact I alreay want Hung working the streets done on Canterbury next Summer.
