Cutler Files

Very interesting story

.At the heart of the case is the conflict between the right to anonymous political speech and the public's right to know who is putting out information during an election campaign.

The case concerns two 2010 gubernatorial candidates, independent Eliot Cutler and Democrat Rosa Scarcelli, and well-known political operative Dennis Bailey, who's being assisted by the ACLU of Maine Foundation.

MaineToday Media, which owns The Portland Press Herald, is seeking to make the documents public and has asked to be a party in the case.

The Cutler Files website was active last year from about Aug. 30 through the election on Nov. 2. After weeks of denying any connection, Bailey admitted in December 2010 to being a co-creator of the anonymous website targeting Cutler

So now the city is going to start to regulate these box like containers that are popping up around Worc that are meant for donations of clothing and who knows what else. Seems they fall in the category of nuisances, possible nuisances, or structures. If ya dont need a building permit to erect a storage shed that is less than 100 sq ft, then why would one need a permit to erect a 3' x 3' x 8' plywood box?

So, what about the Yellow Boxes for used druggie needles the city health dept has strategically placed around the city, probably especially so in Main South(?). They are boxes and they are not only a nuisnace or a potential nuisnace but also inherently dangerous. If the needles are dangerous, is it a great leap of logic to say the unattended boxes that contain these needles are also dangerous.

So....I do wonder how is that Yellow Box program working out? How much city labor does it take to empty/maintain these public garbage disposals?

Once again the city is exempt from so many rules that they enact.

Anyone seen the Holmes Field (Plantation St) swimming pool site of late. Bath house wall has been collapsed now for at least a year, maybe two years. The swimming pool is an open pit and the fence surrounding it aint much to look at either. ?
