- No marketing report again. All year there has only been one marketing report filed. That was in September and that was to let us know that the expiration of the time allotted to spend the Small Community Air Service grant was extened one year. We have not one report on any discussions with any airlines during 2007.
- Master Plan is still not done, it has literally been 3 years maybe 4 that we have worked on a 20 year Master Plan
- the winner (and lone bidder)of the RFP for the parcel of land, Winward who had delayed their decision whether to buy the parcel until next March, now has paid $2,000 to advertise and recruit potential prospects?
- insulation in Hangar 2 has finally been completed
- I have received many anonymous e-mails detailing the deplorable conditions of some the buildiings at the airport. Now it has been confirmed in the minutes that the building that houses Amity is in "severe disrepair". The ARFF building, not sure which one that is, also has "some heating issues", which I translate as no heat.
The thing that really is bothering me right now is how did these buildings (assets of the City of Worcester) get into such bad shape?

I have a theory that says the colder you keep the work environs..........the greater the tendency of those who are prone to doing nothing all day ...........to actually do something .....just to keep warm. It's a conclusion I reached yrs when working outside and also working in a refrigerated warehouse.
I wonder if any anonymous emailers have dialed the city NO HEAT.....hotline??? ....799-8581.........
hOW MUCH YOU WANNA Bet the City is exempt from all the ordinances that they pass re: livablity/health/heat issues??
Again just take a ride over to DPW on East Worc St.........check out the imploding salt sheds..............god help us they're if they're loading salt right now (100 Pm Thursday ) and that plalce collapses.
Geeee that would make a great Christams toy for nephew's Lionel Train set.......a partially imploded City of Worc salt shed.......as soon as the Lionel train comes roaring by (fill in CSX or MBTA train)............just watch the salt shed collapse from the ensuing locomotive vibration. It would be better than his rocket launcher car and the exploding ammo dump accessory that he has.
Bill, you must know what I mean.....what with those trains roaring by you a mere 116 feet away.....there's always a littel shake ,rattel & roll.

Always love your comments. I read a book last year about a huge mustard, no lie, containder in Boston during the early 1900's. Ships would pull up and pump mustart into it.
Turns out the construction was shoddy and the thing collapsed and a wall of mustard raveged the nearby neighbors. Sounds funny, but no lie, something like 20 people got killed.
The ARFF building is the old tower building
think it was molasses flood

Belmont home was left to rot when it closed. There is no city leader in charge of surplus properties.
I repeat myself again.....what about the Auditorium.........an alleged homeless guy found dead in there.....God only knows how much time had passed since he had assumed Auditorium temperature........and the funny part was the keepers of the building are quoted in teh T&G as saying they have booted this now deaceased guy outta the place many times before..........so what does that tell you (and all the tort lawyers out there)?..............that we didnt properly secure the building in a fashion that would keep the Boones Farm crowd from hibernating in the place?????..............AND
all this after the Cold Storage Fire and the laws that were enacted..........
but let's give the city the benefit of the doubt.......maybe the dead guy pulled a Fresolo a la St Johns Cemetery..........
i.e. ........ he got in during business hours at the Aud.....and then somehow got locked in at closing time???
Ms Williamson should check out exactly how this guy allegedly died in the Aud?
Re Belmont Home.........rumor has it the City bought all the plywood at Home Depot the day after the Cold Storage Fire.....so that the Belmont home didnt have a similar fate..........
City is always busting chops on private propertyy owners b/c a piece of siding is flapping in the wind.......or the gutter fell off in an ice storm.........yet take a look some of the crap that they own.......
Take a look at the old Fire Alarm building on Park Ave.......the granite pieces that surround the south gable window are held temporarily in place (years now) by blocks of wood that are lag bolted to the superstructure wooden frame...........masonry such as this should not be held in place by the wooden frame of the building..............the masonry s/b supported only by the foundation....but b/c it has pulled away......the city bolts it to building frame......so now it's pulling on the entire structure......
is jahn dough gay?
Good one Arthur
