The Exxon, now Gulf, on Park Ave and Pleasant Street had some deal today in conjunction with DCU where they sold gas at 1.99 per gallon. Can you say standstill? Honestly the traffic jam was incredible and I can only imagine how long people had to wait in line to get gas.

They had the same thing last fall, too.......cars backed up to Newton Sq it seemed.....I assume they have to hire a cop, too?
Wouldnt the topper be if El Deliscio showed up and started peddling food to those in line!!!
Who, other than Paulies Pajama People have the time to wait hours in line to save $40 at the most.......assuming a fill up on a 20 gallon tank. Then again many Pajama People dont have the $40 it would cost them out of pocket for 20 gallons of gas. Do they take nickel cans?
I wonder if Haller showed or maybe Park Ave is the line in her district?
This almost borders on a nuisance.....almost as bad as a 35 ton fire truck rushing to "non-fire calls" and lousing up the flow of traffic on Park Ave for a mile or more.....then stopping at Auto Zone on the dead haul to pick a set of brake pads !!!!!
at noon, I drove by, there were at least two policemen and they were very much needed. The line went past the tennis courts but not quite all the way to newton square.

I saw it at about 10am and it went down June Street from Newton Square as far as Chandler St. It was amazing!
There was a street vendor on the side of the road selling hot dogs.
was there a gallon limit???
bill you need to stop looking out the window and get back to work :)
