I'm the photographer of the picture, that happened to be the very first day of ops for direct air at ORH. Yes, that is the same kind of plane that would land during the ice storm.
After reading the Sunday 12/21/08T&G's article "Cost conscious fliers choose Logan" I was surprised that airlines are flocking to Boston but no mention of Worcester or its current carrier when the couple from Rhode Island were looking for a good fare to SouthWest Florida. How about offering airline employees incentive low interest rates if the purchase homes in the urban core to entice airlines to choose Worcester? We get a good working population , increase property values, and fringes business might come back . We could apply this to other industries as well.
I believe the couple in the article was looking for flights to SouthEast Florida... i.e. Fort Lauderdale area. Only Boston serves this are non-stop. Out of Manchester and TF Green you have to connect...
I, Jahn J. Snow will no longer voluntarily shovel out the hydrant in front of my house nor will clear catch basins or strom drains that are nearby my house when they become congested with leaves, ice, snow and, etc. These are both voluntary functions and I am done volunteering until thsi city council modifies this new snow & ice removal law.
The city doesnt follow (exempts themselves) from the laws they legislate nor do certain city councilors and city bigwigs.
I am fed up!. Time to get the cartoon addicted firefighters to do it as they are first responders to emergency situations or get some of the 600 city employees who are out injured on duty status back work or get those city employeees who take an avaerage of 10 sick days per year off of sick laeve and back to work.
At least give me 18 hours to get the sidewalk cleared.
I just called the DPW 24/7 hotline. Guess what.......it isnt rmanned 24/7.all I get is a recodring directing me to certain other depts if I have an emergency..........well I have an emergency..............i am running out of moiney to pay property taxes for non deleivery of city services!
i also thought i read they were trying to get to southwest florida. i wonder if direct air is advertising in providence with some of the grant money we gave them?
Bill sure has been quite lately, eh? Must be having to file all those claims for the storm damage for his customers; great, just what an insurance agent needs, eh? A ton of claims at year end, that will surely piss off the insurers...

Is this a picture of the plane that was able to land at Worcester despite the ice and snow storms of late?

Anyone tell us what we're getting for load factors lately ?
IMO it's critical that these aero-plains be 90-95% loaded right now.
