I read in T&G this monring (7-3) Ms Boone says: "I want to be able to show (my family) a flavor of Worcester when they visit".
MMMMMMM.......i am not going to write on heer what I thought when I read that quote...but is anyone else reading something between the lines that I am reading? I am not going to say it on here b/c I dont want to get into what her personal situation may be...but......this quote leaves an unanswered question or 2???
Additionally, per T&G she's req'd to reside in Worc (yet Worc public safety personnel are not??) and she's had thsi job all sewed up for about 9 months and still she has to rent here rather than buying??
Sorry but I am getting vibes of a former city official from a nearby NE state who was supposed to "reside in Worc"...&...who it appeared basically met the letter of the law but not the spiriit of the law as re Worc residency

Many weeks ago, I heard Superintendent Boone bring this up when she was addressing a Worcester Interfaith forum. Well over one year ago, before she had even applied for the position in Worcester, she and a few of her closest college friends scheduled and planned a special trip away together. I think it was some type of once in-a-lifetime celebration after so many years of friendship and support for one another.
These women have been close friends for so many years that Dr. Boone wanted to spend time with them and share with them all of their achievements and hopes for the next phase of their lives. Then it will be back to Worcester for her as she embraces her new school system and community and starts the job of bringing reform to the Worcester Public Schools.
a. Whats a school super doing addressing a Worc Interfaith forum....especially before she even gets her feet under the desk? Good question for her I guess and Not Mr Rosen?
b. Maybe she can come to my temple and address others as well.
3. 3 weeks for a girlie bonding trip???...........1 week s/b more than adequate..............Bill have you had a 3 week bonding "trip" with the guys in MYrtle Beach in Mid July or even Mid Febr.
Soory folks, but months ago I got bad vibes in my gut about this appointment.....primarlity b/c she was given teh job last October (or Novenber?) and then we hire an interim super for 9 months) to give her 9 months before she even has to start her gig up here in Worc.........I dont care what obligations she had in VA. We never should've waited 9 months for any candidate to get behind the desk. This baloney would never happen at St Gobain or Wyman Gordon when they hired a NEW CEO.........couple or few months at best........
Also Girlie bonding trips are planned more than a year in advance...........possible I guess.....but IMO unususual
I actually confirmed with Gary that this was indeed his comment. Now this is a perfect example how a rumor may get out of control.
Gary thanks for explaining the situation and I think Councilor Rosen should be commended for not only straightening this out but actually commenting using his own name!!
I have checked on the status of Dr. Boone's trip out of the country. It is one that she and her friends had been planning for almost two years to celebrate the milestone of them turning 50 years old this year.
The trip will begin in three weeks, but it will NOT be three weeks in duration. She will be taking six school days off, Friday, July 24 and July 27-31.
Be safe this holiday weekend and try to attend the Concert and Fireworks celebration Sunday night, July 5 at Cristoforo Colombo Park (East Park) on Shrewsbury St.
commenting under own name? Gary gets kudos for using his own name but when will the trash-talking "Jahn" stand up and be counted? I think that is what Mr. Nemeth is getting at. Anyone who writes in a daily has to claim what they write. I applaud Bill and his fellow bloggers who treat thier blogs like a daily but I have nothing but contempt for those who disparage others and dont say who they are. BTW I am annon. bacause I merely comment on a few blogs (positive comments only) and would only post my name if I was to challenge or say something negetive about an individual. I feel if I have something bad to say about someone they should have a chance to defend themselves. Bill, you have a very well done and thoughtfull site and your homework on the posts shows (ex. the blow-back valves)Have a great fourth!
Making realistic comments that dont nec. have a positive spin or a perceived spin positive is not trash talking. For example, making comments about about firemen who sleep on the job is not disparaging. It's a mere statement of fact.
Yes, i do have my nicknmaes for certain folks........that comes with their turf........most of those nicknmaes speak to the named persons foolishness or wrongful acts or omission.
I do consider myself counted...with or with out a last name.

Once again.....HUH...????? Mr Anonymous declares that he can be Anonymous b/c he only posts on a few Blogs. Must be nice to be able to make all the blog posting rules and then exempt yourself.........you must be a member of Congress or teh City Council?
