Bill, what was Central Catholic is now back to being St. Peter's.

St Peters CC has a great learning community wih a strong emphasis on fundraising, either for the school or the needs of the neighborhood/parish. Very weak academically compared to worcester Public Schools, but they claim the kids live their faith every day

I know a couple of contractors who got out of there with about 50cents on the dollar...which is about what most of them are rumored to have received.

I am catholic, but I dont why the bishop couldnt have stepped up to the plate there and shown some so called leadership...even if he supposedly has or had nothing to do with the school.

Bill how about a movement to make SJ co-ed?.......starting with daily protests at 2:30 pm each day in front of the school and at all sporting events. Bring in Molly Yard, Gloria Steinem, Rosie ODonneell, etc as props. :).

What agreat way to ruin a great school :)

Joe would roll over in his grave :(

I agree with T-Traveler about SPCC's academics.

I also had some issues with OLA about twenty years ago. They wouldn't accept him into kindergarten because he wouldn't answer their questions. I explained that he knew he was being 'tested' and wouldn't play their game, and if they simply asked him a question that he knew they didn't know the answer to, he would respond. They wouldn't. They kept asking how many bees were on the flower.

He ended up in Saint John's, the Mass Academy of Math and Science, and just graduated from WPI.

Hey, I know I'm late to the game here, but let me say that I have experienced both St. Peter's and Dawson in Holden and there is no comparison.

The Dawson education currently blows St. Peter's away and the atmosphere at Dawson is a million times better as well. I am saving thousands by my 3 kids going to Dawson and they get the benefit of a better education.

Wish I could say different as I am an alum St. Peter's but it isn't what it used to be.
