Rockford AirFest to Host Blue Angels | | |||
13 News ROCKFORD -- One of the best military flying teams in the country will make a stop in Rockford this summer. The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels will fly into town the first weekend of June, the 2nd and 3rd. They're performing at Rockford AirFest. There's no official announcement yet from the Rockford Airport. But the Blue Angels website lists Rockford on its schedule. A Guilford High School graduate, Captain Drew Hess, is pilot of the Blue's support plane "Fat Albert." |

It’s been nearly a year since I wrote about the problems that come from
having 11 bosses who are not on the same page about anything, as well as

The Blue Angels have promised to never return to Worcester after someone stole one of their helmets during a show.
forgot all about that
When did this happen?
Lets all thank the person who ruined the chance of an airshow in Worcester just because he wanted a helmet! Why would you do something as stupid as that!
Dave from Worcester
Come on now.......Blue Angles wont come back to worc Airport b/c of a $500 stolen helmet? Thats only teh sales on one fuel up by Allegiant
Prob. some WPI Frat Pledge took it as a joke.
Does anyone re call about 10 or 15 yrs ago the WPI frat boys did their Drunken Christmas tree harvesting at Wachusett Resevoir. and were promptly cuffed by the local constabulary. Seems they were making a bit too much noise at 1:00 am.
DeI heard from someone I know that whoever took the helmet also vandalized some of their stuff, as well
When did this happen Bill?.
WT:
It had to be about 5 years ago (complete guess). At the same time I do remember it happening.
Bill
Thanks Bill
Since we are recalling past moments at ORH (sort of), does anyone recall a 737-200 making a gear up landing at ORH. It happened at about the same year as the airshow. If Bills guess is right, I was about 9, so I vaguely remember.
I have some people I can ask. I'll let y'all know the dates when I find 'em. What a shame that our past comes back to haunt us, as the past always will.
Called Blue Angels public relations. Last time they were in Worcester was in 1990.
Dave if you remember it happening 5 years ago in accordance with Bill's recollection and you were nine, you weren't even born yet when it really happened.
Who is Del. Was he/she actually an employee of the airport or is he/she? repeating 4th generation rumors.
I'm sure your intentions are good and I don't mean to be singling you out Dave. Just trying to make a point of getting the facts . It usually just takes a phone call.
It was Bobby Mulhearn, John Foley, and Tony Alfego from airport maintenance. They didn't do it for the helmet. They were trying to discredit the FBO at the time Dynair.
