COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Skybus Airlines filed for bankruptcy the same day it shut down and less than a year after the Columbus, Ohio-based airline began service. Skybus spokesman Bob Tenenbaum says the low-cost carrier filed papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware Saturday night. Skybus was known for its $10 fares and a la carte, pay-per-service flying. It had been hurt by rising fuel prices and a slowing economy. It is the third airline to shut down in the past week, following Indianapolis-based ATA and Aloha Airlines.
U.S. Rep. James P. McGovern, D-Worcester, brought $27.7 million back to Massachusetts including $735,000 for road safety improvements at the College of the Holy Cross, $245,000 for the John Bartholomew Gough Estate in Boylston, and $82,000 for the Molly Bish Center at Anna Maria College.
“The Constitution gives Congress the power of the purse,” Mr. McGovern said in a statement. “I work closely with communities in my district, and I believe that I have a better idea of what those communities need than some bureaucrat in Washington who can’t even pronounce ‘Worcester.’ ”

lqvrrlzWho or what is the John Bartholomew Gough Estate in Boylston?
Is that Tower Hill Botanic Center, by any chance?
Did Mr McGovern include and monies for Cuba or South America, afterall they are clearly more poverty stricken than the 9th Congressional District.
Dittos for Main Souths need for low income housing.
Wheres's my beef?
