Rockford has lost their one legacy carrier, United, and their flights to Denver and Allegiant to Fort Lauderdale. As soon as they lost them, however, they were able to replace them with Southern Skyways with flights to Denver, and Detroit. Airport executive director Bob O'Brien says that in March, 29,361 people flew in and out of Rockford - a 27% increase over the previous record set just a month earlier.
