Blades of Glory?? We can even have Will Farrell there for the ribbon cutting.
Sell the naming rights to Dunkin Donuts and shape the rink into a donut. It will then affectionatly be called the Donut. Maybe we can even put a huge empty coffee cup with steam coming out of it on top of the top.
You will people all around the city saying "meet me at the Donut".
Providence already trumped us there, Bill... Providence Civic Center is now known as the Dunkin' Donuts Center, or as the locals call it "The Dunk" ...
BTW, after driving passsed that rink site last week I was wondering............has the under ground parking lot been taken/demo'ed for this rink or will it remain?
I have always wondered....... can the customers of City Hall use that lot....or is it just meant for the important people at city hall to use as their personal parking?
Ever drive by the Inspectional Services building on Meade St over behind the old Wyman Gordon site...........all the city vehicles (used by the city employees) there are parked right next to the building .....while the customers have to park across the street.
When I was a kid and worked in retail a few times, I was always instructed to park as far away from the building as possible....b/c the best/nearest spaces s/b left for the customers....evidently monoplies dont have to give rats +++ about their customers parking ?
At Stop & Shop I have been told they have a simlar policy....unless the employyee has a legit reason for needing to park nearer the store.
