Is it just me or has anyone else noticed who is (are) very quiet about these CSX E.D. land takings?
Coming for Christmas 2010...faster than a speeding bullet...more powerful than a Blue & Yellow locomotive...and more laden with cash than Fort Knox...
The "CSX Wooo Express" and notably absent from the films credits, although the film was his idea, is none other than Lieutenant Tim Murray. Just Like his ill fated stage east exit from Worcester involving the 2006 Christmas horror movie "City Square Uno"........Mr McMurray again leaves Worcester with major unfinished business...at least a dozen property owners abuot to be E.D.'ed
This latest Christmas film will bowl over Worcester unlike anything since the 1958 E.D. takings for I-290 and unlike most E.D. happenings, things that were originally standing upright will not even exist anymore....namely a number of EDifices.
Seriously, where is The Dough Boy, Barack O'Worcester, Elmer McFudd, and the Office of Neighborhood Salvage (EONS)? All MIA?
Wonder if any of these businesses ever considered moving to Canterbury St? Is it time to toss Pharma's-not-Here out on their ass and take care of a few of our long time home boys, by relocating them to the corner of Canterbury and Nadeau Sts?
Now if I-290 wasnt elevated from Grafton St to E Central St, we would not even be having this discussion b/c the feds would have taken most of these newly condemned properties back in 1958 and Worc would have a complete 8 ramp cloverleaf abutting downtown. Imagine how that may have changed things back in the day?

While I like Jahn's commentary he is off topic on this posting.
But keep up the good work Jahn.
Some would say Jahn is not merely off topic, but way off. :)
