The Pierce County Council has approved buying the Tacoma Narrows Airport near Gig Harbor for $5 million. The county is paying $3 million and the Peninsula Parks District will pay $2 million and get the adjacent golf course.
The News Tribune reports Tacoma has been trying to sell the money-losing airport for two years.
