For the hell out it I searched Google News for Worcester Airport and came up with this story from September 21, 2010.
WORCESTER, Mass. — There is very little going on here at the Worcester Regional Airport. There are a couple dozen cars parked in the open-air parking lot. But no people.
At the parking attendant booth, the sign says “Stop For Attendant,” but there’s no one in the booth. When you pull a few feet up to the machine that dispenses parking tickets, you can’t get a ticket, because the electronic guts are hanging out of the machine.
Inside, plenty of parking spaces.
Inside the terminal, it’s very, very empty. Not one passenger in here. Not one passenger in front of the airline ticketing counter. No one to take the tickets. The escalators aren’t running.
There are no passengers down the way waiting to rent cars at the car rental counter, although there does seem to be someone staffing the counter. On one end of this football-length long terminal is a sign that reads “Welcome to Worcester.” On the other end, there’s a huge sign that reads “Air Capital of the World.”
Not here.

It’s been nearly a year since I wrote about the problems that come from
having 11 bosses who are not on the same page about anything, as well as

would this be the MayorJObie Summah Bus Tour?
If it's from weeks ago anonymous; why is the story dated 9/21?
Speaking of that date, it is a Tuesday. IIRC, Direct Air does not fly on Tuesday so it would be a "No Man's Land".
We need daily service as soon as possible. Massport and/or the city also needs to do something about the signage to/from the airport. Small signs with an airplane doesn't cut it for anyone from outside the city or the immediate suburbs.

Yes, this is not only on the website, but was broadcasted on WBUR the same day. I spoke with Andy Davis who said he had a nice 45 minute interview with them a week before this was aired, and the only portion of the interview they used was the bit regarding why the "Air Capital of the World" sign was still hanging. Investigative reporting at its finest, indeed.
Perhaps, instead of pulling into the airport at 5am when the crickets are still chirping, they could have visited during the very busy weekend in August when we hosted an Aviation Discovery Weekend for Young Adults.

Bill, I asked a few times what has been going on at teh airport since MP took over on July 1st.
I was told MP doesnt want to ramp things up too fast b/c there then would be concern as to why they didnt do whatever it is they are going to now, back 6 or 8 yrs when they first came in to manage the place?
My position was MP has known for quite awhile now that they would take over our airport and that on July 1st the rubber should have hit the road up there as far as their plans for the future of the airport.
NO thread on Nat'l Envelope?
hay..I am happy that they have paved one of the roads leading to it:>)
MAYBE NEXT THEy'll pave Rte 137, leading to the gated community of Cockle Cove
From #224 to Rte 24 to Rte 124. We're moving up in the world....So many homes...so little time :)
I know its a small airport but it should open up to national flights and not just regional.
we are keepin out the rifraf in Cockle Cove ...you dig:>)
