Greendale Mall

Drove by today. The parking lot, along side the highway, was hosting a huge carnival. Is there no surer sign that a mall is in trouble when they can rent out half their parking lot to a mall.

Still stand behind my Best Buy will close by the end of the year.

30 years ago, the biggest and best carnivals around were at Auburn MAll and Webster Square plaza, so some times it takes a while for the precipitous decline

I remember going to a carnival in the Greendale mall's parking lot something like 15-20 years ago. Still might not be a good sign, but it's not a recent development.

15-20 years ago. I don't believe there was a Best Buy.

Between WalMart and the 146 Mall, the Greendale is dead. Once Best Buy leaves it will really be dead.

Bill, you are out your damn mind. This carnival has been going on for years and is a sign of nothing.

The mall might be in trouble, but the only thing this carnival indicates is that there is fried dough available.

Bill, I have to agree with my felloow bloggers. I too recall teh Carnival at Auburn Mall 30+ years ago.... generally speaking not nec. a sign of bad times for a Mall.

Now that being said, I agree the Greendale Mall is slipping, unless they can fill the space with another big box store.

Check this weeks Court Log. See how many out of state folks are popped for various misdeamors & high crimes. Hopefully the carnies behaved well [g].

Happy Mem. Day weekend to awl. Let's not forget teh true menaing of the holiday as we celebrate.
