Vinny T's of Boston at 867 Boylston St. closed about 1 1/2 weeks ago.
If Shrewsbury is also closing, I think the company is evaulating all of their locations which most chains do from time to time. In spite of what Washington keeps telling us about the economy getting better, if you ask most people they would disagree with that assessment. Apparently Vinny T's may also agree that things are not really looking up.
I'm just pointing out that the company that runs Vinny T's is making a decision about which locations to keep open and which to close due to economic conditions.
Actually Vinny T's does well here. It was the overall chain closing it done not this single store's preformance. In fact it would be a good business for someone to keep open and hit the ground running.
I have to wonder it they expanded a bit too quickly in the 90's
Wasnt the Boston store the original home base? Then they opened one in Dedham along 128N. Then another on Rte 9W in Natick. Then another in Shrewsbury on the lake. Maybe Paulie our resident man about the greater Boston area knows of others? Maybe the North shore "family" is infighting? Another Legal Seafood family slug fest type situation. What's the word outta Somerville, Paulie?
I wonder how many of their sites they actually own?
So........the $64,ooo question is......does the closing of the Lake Quinsig Shrews store qualify as a Worc. store being about 300 ft removed from Worc.......too close to call?
Query. I wonder if they had stayed open what the proposed re- construction of the Lake bridge would do to their traffic count? Any retail outlet will tell you that even though their store is still accessible during nearby constr projects.......that the project will still negatively impact their revenue stream.
Natick doesn't appear on their website anymore - no idea when that happened. Back Bay is closed (as noted by David) Lexington is closed, according to a review on Yelp. Danvers is closed.
And if Shrewsbury is closing, well, that's not a good sign. T&G article says they're staying open and almost got sold.
karen polito should probably remove her sign from their storefton then or it will become the new sonny pazooki sign that was in ha tien market for 13 years

did you predict this closing? not sure I ever went to Vinny Ts, in fact I used to talk people out of going to Marios. Freddys Four Seasons is better!
