Myrtle Beach Direct

Although some people think that I consider myself an expert on ORH, I am not even though I slept at a Holiday Inn last night. Made some calls tonight to confirm Casino Air Direct and I do not like the vibes that I am getting? Now I am starting to doubt myself, what if it is not Casino Air Direct?

It only leaves me with one option--Myrtle Beach Direct .

I have had them as a link of my blog and web page for over a year, but they scare me. Why? Well they are based in Myrtle Beach and their management use to be involved with the old Hooters, who owes everyone money. Before that their management was involved with Aviation Advantage, who ran Lehigh Valley Air (owe everyone money) and now Southern Skyways, who seems to be failing everywhere too. Do you see a pattern?

It almost eerie how similar the websites are between Southern Skyways, Myrtle Beach Direct and the former Hooters and Aviation Advantage.... In the end I know beggers can not be choosers and we are about to lose $300,000 in grant monies from the DOT, but lets hope it is Casino Air Direct not Myrtle Beach Direct. Lastly, as far as I can tell, Myrtle Beach Direct does not even fly into St Pete's anymore so where could this SouthWest Florida destination be, Punta Gorda ?

Before I sign off tonight, I am 100% positive that tomorrow one of these two airlines will be announced out of ORH. I personally am hoping for Casino and have huge reservations about Myrtle Beach Direct.

I just had a chance to reread the WoMag article and some of my own comments.

What really bothers, me more then anything else, is that an ex-Commissioner mentions 20 airlines since the IMG report, that "we" have spoken to without any of us (silly bloggers) knowing about it?

Myself, even as a Holden resident which bothers some, thought "we" was "us" and that a commissioner's job was to represent "us" and keep "us" informed, outside executive session. Obviously I was wrong and I will not make the same mistake again.

This is not just by opinion, but that echoed by the Mass General Laws regarding Open Meetings, known as the Massachusetts Sunshine Laws.

Or you might be right Bill. Boston Herald seems pretty positive, as we just updated our article. Could US Airways be far behind then???

Myrtle Beach Direct Air's website tonight shows ORH as a bookable city. Interestingly it only shows Myrtle Beach as the destination. So it looks like a connection to get to Florida.

I heard there is another airline, no idea who, is in discussions with ORH. Maybe the other airline is US Airways.

If this is in fact only a connection to SouthWest Florida, it will not work. Can you say Skybus?

Seriously people have too many direct options with JetBlue and Southwest. There is no location listed? It will not be a big airport like Tampa or Fort Myers, but it will be a small one.

If it us Punta Gorda, how many people do you think will book a flight that connects at Myrtle to Punta Gorda? Not many. People will only consider it as an option to Myrtle Beach, not as a connection to SouthWest Florida.

I knew it was not one of the Legacy carriers when the destination was SouthWest Florida. We are not going to get a US Airways in here that will then fly us to SouthWest Florida.
It would only be a second tier airline like a Casino or Myrtle Beach Direct.

If US Airways were to come to ORH, they would fly to one of our their regional hubs (philadelphia). For the life of me I still can not understand how we can not get Cape Air to fly multiple flights per day to Boston with their code sharing agreement with JetBlue, it would be ideal.
