Harry, I hear there is still plenty of food there, including Philly Steak & Cheese and Shiskabob ingredients.......but they may be going to a local homeless shelter...soowwwwwy....you lose, unless you''re homeless [g].

McDonalds, McFaddens......Lordie.......howeverthis Mcfaddens demise has been in the making for 2 years, i would estimate. Bill called it on here at least a year ago...maybe 2 years ago?. City tax collector had liened the place couple(?)years ago

As long as the Pickle Barrel survives, I'll be happy....my favorite inner city eatery. Ya gotta love that ambianece of local pols, cops, DPW dudes, Ho's, gang bangers, Seccion Ocho's, SSI'ers, etc, etc. that gives the place its true flavor.

Today I will pay all my 1st of the month bills. My house property tax bill is up 26% from the previous year... that's $605.00. I am not talking quarter to quarter payments I am talking year over year and I was not under assessed in prior years..nor am I over assessed in the current year........but the dam tax RATE went from 13.50 to 15.30....that's a 13% increase in the tax rate........and the city councilors are the only ones who are responsible for the what the rate is...and all incumbents were re-elected....i think???.

Where in God's name is My Coupe Deval promise of a cut in property taxes? McGovern gave us Deval.........need I say any more......

City labor runs this town. Case closed. Not to mention the school dept budget is $25M in the hole. Does anyone know if that is the current year school budget or the projected budget of next fiscal year?

I forgot...folks my house in Shrewsbury would pay 500-600$ less in property taxes..plus shrewsbury schools look much more attractive..........just ask all the Worc teachers who live in Shrewsbury (or paxton or holden) or who live in Worc and send their kids to private school in Worc and/or Shrewsbury.

As I have said on here before, when I worked in the metrowest area centuries ago, if You worked at the Framingham GM plant (1956 to 1989), you wouldn't dare show up to work in a Honda or a Toyota..but if you work in the Worc public schools there's no problemo' buying educational services elsewhere from the competition. Why put your kid in a Chevrolet Corvair when you can buy a Toyota Avalon one town over.
