ORH would be the perfect hub for Cape Air. Instead they shell out 300k for fly by nite direct air.
I've been to O2town in NY many times..hard to believe they would service there and no here
I read in the Worcester Magazine that US Airways was on the verge of adding service to Worcester before Direct Air came here, then they backed off. If this is true, I'll be super pissed. I don't have a good feeling about Direct Air, US Airways would have been a much better fit.

I highly doubt Direct Air coming to OPRh would effect US Airways. Maybe a little, but not alot. Most likely the US Airways service would be multiple flights per day to a hub in a smaller plane where you could then connect direct. US Airways could think a direct service to Florida on Direct Air would adversely effect their loads since a target for them would be the Florida market.
Another problem could be the remaining $300,000 of grant monies. I wonder how much of this Direct Air wanted?

There is no way a legacy carrier is going to come in here and provide direct service to Florida location. Best we can hope for are flights to a hub, where we can then connect direct.

The blog entry says that they found "worcester ma" buried in the source code of the usairways.com website. It only shows up in the source code after you do a search for worcester.
My guess is someone tried Worcester on all the websites they could find, then found it buried in the source, even though the only reason it was there was because it had been a recent search.
