Catching Up

1. Santy's is open today.   Sorry about that and my apoligies to Santy.
2. Eddie Santiago use to own a small grocery story on Wellington and Main, moved into the old Mart and then sold.  It has since changed hands to the current owner.  Eddie bought a liquor store in Westboro, Grapevine, that I heard was stuggling.
3. Great editorial from Mr Chernisky today.

Was today's newspaper the Chamber of Commerce issue (pages 7-8-9-10)??   One part I liked the best:

Is the Chamber memebership for me?  My two favorite parts:

• Advocacy.. the WRCC advocates on behalf of the region's business community? 
• Public Policy ...  WRRCC is a strong voice and advocate on behalf of the region's business community?

If either were true, I would join in a second.    Right now there is proposed ban on all signs, where is the Chamber of Commerce?   Grease traps have been a huge issue in the City of Worcester, where is the Chamber of Commerce?     Lets not even get into the dual tax rate, which other then once a year at tax-rate setting time we hear nothing from the Chamber of Commerce.

Maybe less time advertising to join the Chamber and more time advocating and changing public policy to help the "region's business community" and people will join the Chamber.
