Allegiant Departure

I was told by a pretty reliable source that it was that they had no control over their fuel costs thus the route was not profitable.  If they had a better control over their fuel costs at ORH, they would have made money and stayed.

Now someone can explain this alot better then me, but JetBlue would not have this problem.  I was told this and forgot to ask why.  Maybe they fuel up at their own hub at JFK and do not have to fuel up at ORH?   Maybe someone out their can explain this better.

Bill...as always...you truly are ahead of the curve when it comes to breaking a story...we NEVER did find out the REAL reason Allegiant left ORH... looks like you are doing some investigative reporting...

If Worcester had put the money into Allegiant stock that it put into no/lo housing...the city's coffers would be overflowing with $$$$$ right now...

Just my 2 cents...

I wanna hear it from Maurice Gallagher.....no offense to Bill's moles but this city is due an explanation as to WHY Allegient Airlines left so quickly.....were they promised things that did not pan out?

This should be the big question everyone wants to hear cause as you have so often made note of Harry is how well Allegient Airlines has been the past few years....why did a successful airline leave and a chump took it's place to quite abit of fanfare around here yet again.

If your mole is correct that will make Steve Buchalter very happy. IIRC, I believe he finished 7th in the last city election which would mean if Joe O'Brien leaves early, Steve would become a member of the CC.

As for the poster below that said the JetBlue announcement about Providence did not happen, it will be announced at a press conference on Wednesday.

Isnt Steve Patton the CEO at Worc Common Grd, a local non profit, low income housing builder?
If Mr Patton leaves WGC and Joe Obie takes over as WCG CEO I would kind of assume he'd also stay on as a CC'or?? I understand he is an EMT now and also holds down a CC position.

Never ceases to amaze me what qualifications one DOES NOT NEED to be the chieftan of a non profit low income housing builder. Dare I ask what experience Job Obie has in the building trades, in management, in housing constr, in housing rentals, sewerage back ups, $300,000 per unit apt constr, etc, etc. Maybe the same experience Mr. Patton had when he took over about 15 years ago. Why don't we just fold up WCG and end its existence?

Does West Yarmouth Jim have his fingerprints all over this or what?
