Options

From Jahn:

Guys, we've got to get our ideas and thoughts in some kind of order here, almost as if this is a cases study in college.

First let's list the options going forward:

1. Private management co.

2. Private owners

a. Sell outright
b. L T lease

3. City goes it alone.

4. Cont. current agreemnt w/MP

5. New agreement w/MP to :

a. buy outright.
b. L T Lease
c. Manage ORH only

Now let list the pros & cons for each line item and our assumptions if need be.

Also, if there is an option I failed to list, please add it.

I am thinking here, would this be a good case study for the MBA's at harvard or the like?

Anything is worth a try at thiss juncture??

These are the types of things that the Airport Commission should have been reviewing rather then deciding if a company can have a photoshoot or film a movies.

Yes , you re prob right, Bill. Frankly, I have to wonder to myself exactly what is their function and authority.?

Seems I sometimes read that City cannot find people to sit on various boards/ committees. Maybe there are reasons people dont want to hold these positions, from lack of authority to complete disregard of their ideas and thoughts ???

This isnt the greatest of analogies, but just look at teh recommendations WMRB. Most get filed??????

I am not blaming the members of the Airport Commission personally. Everytime I read the Board Minutes and see these individuals voting on whether a photoshoot or filming should be done, it drives me crazy..

Maybe one of the reasons that the City can not find people to sit on boards is that they are not provided the right direction and feel completely powerless?? The Airport Board Members should have been discussing the various options that you have laid out in this blog.

Instead Commissioner Nemeth, past Chairman, is waiting for more information of Moody Street Pictures. By the way this company films a show called "Be A Bruin", it is a great show.

There is another perspective here, this is a highly political situation. The Airport Commission is only doing what they are told to do by the city politicians. AeroBlue.Org can help organize political support for these kind of airport decisions.

Hey, I think it deserves mentioning that the access road re-pavement is complete and now provides a smooth route to the airport and tenants. This is a great improvement. Let's applaud positive accomplishments as they happen and spread the word.

Tom, not be negative, but applauding this roadway project would be to applaud poor performance in terms of the time it took get this project done.

Was it just finished and if so, thank Mother nature for the fine Dec weather, otherwise it might have been next spring.
