ignoMany things caught my eye in this article including no mention of the Nassau service and the San Juan service will now start as a 6-week trial run only.
I wish the city hadn't burned their bridges with Allegiant Airlines. WA could really use an airline like them right now.
Does it count when I buy a coffee at Dunkins on a Sunday and drive up to watch a flight taking off as economic spin off. How about a major airline or two with regular service to a hub, then we can count the spin off.
Tim, FWIW and you may know this already, but the bestest plane watching is out in the Castle Island area of Southie. If my memory isnt faling me, there is a road that leads out there and even parking spaces that seem to be just for that purpose. You can almost reach up and touch the underbelly of the incoming planes as they decelerate. And from my limited experince ya can even have an adult beverage and a bag of chips and no one will ever bother you.
So someone please enlighten me, exactly what do we have for commercial jet service flights to/ from ORH nowadays.....100 passenger and larger planes only
The Obuma-esque question of the day is: 18.5 months of Massport ownership at ORH and we have to ask ourselves are we better off or worse off than 3 years ago?
Just curious, but is Polar Beverages involved in this L Street bath house polar plunge. Myself I avoid beachside bath houses, ice cold water, and roadside rest areas esp on the southern extremes of Rte 3.
And I thot I asked a question about 3 posts back about what we now have at WA for comm. jet service. Larger jets only. Will or Dave or Steve, you cant help me out here? Is it 2 RT to FL. and 1RT to Sand Waun?
A couple months ago I mentioned how I noticed a sign on the back of city bus to dial up a telephone number and/or go to some website to learn about how to ride the bus and I was puzzled just how one goes about learning how to ride the buses and why the need for such a tutorial? Is this topic tested on the MCAS? To steal phrase from Colonel Hunt, someone needs to "please have another glass of Dumb Ass"
So tWO DAYS AGO WAS in my car sitting out the light behind a city bus. I couldnt help but notice another sign on the rear of the bus ALL in Spanish except for two small RTA logos that had a couple of English words inside the logo circle. I counted 51 words in Spanish and although I knew the translation of a couple of the words, mi no comprende' what the sign/advertisement was stating.
Someone please tell me what in the world is the RTA thinking? I will excuse these signs only if I am informed that because some RTA funding comes from Washington or Beacon Hill that the RTA is req'd to engage in this foolishness and complete waste of dineros & pesos as well.
So do we have some interesting news coming from the Boston Courts tomorrow after all the fortunate ones have punched out for their 3day long weekend in as many weeks ...or.......will law enforcement hold off for awhile in the hope that they can shake tree a little harder and get some of the higher hanging fruit?
WALMARTISM: definition; the notion that only Walmart should pay Mass. personal property taxes on inventory.
FWIW, Walmart has incorporated each Walmart store in Mass vs. incorporating in Waltonville, Arkansas which "foreign" incorporation would result in Walmart having to pay Mass tax on the value of their inventory.
What in God's name is the T&G reporterette thinking when she pens a piece about Walmart not paying any personal property taxes on inventory when No Mass. businesses pay such a tax.
Surely she's not advocating to enact such a state tax because all Mass businesses will be hit with it from Walmart to the local hot vendor pushcart.
Then of course there is the $100 billion value of non profit real estate that pay no taxes, real estate or otherwise in Worcester. For the record, I do not advocate taxing non profits until gov't cleans up its spending act. I am of this mindset because none of the increased tax revenue from non profits would ever result in my taxes being lowered.
