It is the number one destination overall from the Worcester catchment area and thus the safest destination for an airline to pick out of ORH. I only say one flight per week since that is the minimum that you really need to establish a route. If there are two flights, great but I doubt it.
One flight to Florida from ORH starting in Fall/Winter.
Same Time Next Year

It’s been nearly a year since I wrote about the problems that come from
having 11 bosses who are not on the same page about anything, as well as
suggestion...

Would that mean, if for some reason, a plane can't make it up to Worcester for that one flight, tough luck till next week?
Huh?? No...
if for some reason you could not fly into ORH, they would fly into BOS or PRO
friday, saturdays, and mondays would be a good schedule for a florida route. a long weekend down south for people who want to get away. direct air had flights tuesday/thurday if i remember correctly, so that meant you either had a LONG weekend or short 2 days in the middle of the week. most people have weekends off, so flights to florida especially in the winter, would be successful, i think. most people would only need to take 1 or 2 vacation days at most. friday and mondays could be 2 or 3 flights a day to florida, saturdays could be 1 or 2, leisure flight are nice, but the schedule has to make sense too
I would say minimum really needs to be twice a week. Thursday and Sunday would be best. It allows people to escape for the weekend and return to same airport to retrieve their car.

I would agree with you 100%, but do you know how many flights we have right now??
You ask for one flight, hope you get it and then it becomes twice a week then it becomes daily??
Honestly starting to be blown away by thinking on some of these comments.... just be f----- happy if we get one f---- flight by a real carrier like JetBlue to Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we sell it out we will get the two f--- flights. My god put yourself in JetBlue's shoes..
bill, calm down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just some out load thinking. i was suggestion a schedule that i think would make sense for the average consumer. how successful would a route that runs once a week out of worcester to florida, out of a airport that doesnt have the modern radar system jetblue wants be? a route with 2 flight a days would make more sense because i think the average consumer will have the option of spending a few days instead of a week. at that point im sure most people would rather fly elsewhere to have the option of a shorter return day. so maybe i went overboard with how many times a day a flight could leave, but i am trying to think in jetblue shoes, now i ask you think in the consumers shoes.
Lets all hope JetBlue runs their business better than a wing and a prayer like you are suggesting Bill as I fly JetBlue often out of Boston and I hope to continue to be able to do so.
Is Vermont/Burlington considered part of Worcester's catchment area? There is a huge document online studying the regionalization of flight in New England as Logan reaches capacity. It also includes a study of every significant airport in New England. I just don't understand/remember it's content well enough to know myself.
If ORH's catchment/leakage area overlaps with Burlington International's then Jet Blue dropping it's daily Florida flight out of Vermont could be a good sign for Worcester. Jet Blue is keeping it's daily flights to New York, but dropping it's 1 daily Florida flight (as of 11/27/12). If the two areas do compete with each other for coverage, perhaps Jet Blue is switching it's flights from Burlington to ORH to make MassPort happy and try a new area to see if they can fill their planes better. If this is the case, then 1 daily flight to Florida might not be a totally unreasonable theory. What do you think? Thanks.
I am in JetBlue shoes. Please give five good reasons for it to come to Worcester. I will give you #1 MassPort twists it arm so tight (not a good sell that there is a legitimate market).....now you run with the next four.
I do agree it's better than nothing but I just question their success with only one flight. Direct air was at 80 percent with four flights. I would think they could be at 90 or better with two.
let me correct my typo. i meant to say 2 flights a week, not day. with a flight to florida and back on either a thursday or friday, and the same on mondays. that way people can take a long weekend away. im sure most people have weekends off, or at some point get weekends off, so they would only need one or two vacation days to get away.
Jose
What you say makes alot of sense
