Although I am excited about the prospect of Hooters in discussions with ORH, I simply do not get the timing. Hooters is a lean operation and cthey did cut flights at Gary, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio during the months of Jan-February when the ridership is done, but are booking for March.
Destinations like Mytrle Beach, Fort Lauderdale and St Pete's would be great for ORH but will Hooters start up during the Spring and Summer months when they shut-down in Gary and Columbus, I doubt it.. In a best case scenario, I feel Hooters is looking at ORH for the next winter season.
Hope I am wrong.

Have you seen what Hooters has done in Gary? One minute in, one minute out.
They do not appear to have any clear direction right now.
Hooters is going to hang in a market at low loads just to keep a presence. They want people in the plane. If the loads are going to be low for Jan & Feb, they will not fly. That is what they are doing in Columbus/Gary.
Allegiant is kind of doing the same with only 2 flights per week in Jan & Feb then 4 flights in March. That is what concerns me..
If we can get Hooters, which is good, I do not see them catching this winter market and actually waiting until next winter. The question is do we have time to wait??
Also Hooters does not want to compete with another airline. When Rockford brought in United to fly to Vegas, Hooters pulled out immediately.
Did anyone see how Allegiant announced service to Youngstown, OH?
While I do not think Hooters is an airline that should be talked up for the reasons stated above....it is important to note that depending on engine choice they could get a non-stop to Las Vegas on a 752. Would they do it? Should they do it? Likely not....but they could.
Let's get the airline into ORH first and worry about the restaurant afterwards; Hooter's has a restaurant outside of TF Green.... you can always use that as a selling point but for now beggars can't be choosy.
