Although I had told Jahn that he should make an appearance and could have blended into the crowd, he did show..

Anonymous commentor John Mahoney did show.

I think an even bigger disappointment than the city pols not showing at what was the best party ever in Worcester, is Dwight Evans not signing any autographs; who knew Dewey was such a Prima Donna.

But it was great meeting some of my fellow silly bloggers.

Thank you Paulie for a great day and for bringing a little bit of Somerville to the urban core of Worcester!

a lot of the city Pols were in New Hampshire on Saturday campaigning for Barry Obama:>) I got e-mails from two CC'ers wishing the event well..one stating it was his/her kind of party:>) The names have been withheld to protect the innocent:>) NONE were from the D4 Councilor:>) Surprisingly it was a well supported event from D4 folks-Pleasant to Main South..I even had OneLove Cafe on Main South cater the event:>)

Anyway, I have been doing this stuff for a very long time..yah always cheer on WHO did come not sulk about WHO didn't...so muchas gracias to all WHO did:>) It was a lot of fun hosting all who did in mi hood!

Wormtown Taxi has a great YouTube clip up on his site and I have on my blog also..I have more pics to be posted also once I have some free time today or tomorrow.

Anyway, we had John Mahoney in-house who needs Polititions??

After it is said and done, it has dawned on me that you shelled out some good dinero on this.

You and I need to work with the Chandler NRSA to make this a signatue event for Chandler Street next year.

close to 5K mate..been a great year for business for me:>)Best ever and I wanted to give some back:>)

I agree...there is no NOLA blues and jazz festival in the city right now..we should hop on this and make this one the signature one..jazz tent in Keystone Plaza, Gospel tent in the MLK lot..blues in John & Son's lot..maybe a cajun/creole-Congo Square tent in Living Earth lot at Dewey Street & Winfield..folks could bop from one tent to the other..this is something folks would travel for and it is just so much fun.

There is most likely some cultural money out there..I am more than willing to continue my sponsorship, Harpoon will jump in on whatever is needed..it is something that we need to start planning now..not tomorrow

I would love to start a committee on this right away..I could see us bringing in some New Orleans talent coupled with local talent..it is done everywhere else mates

Maybe we could even tie it in with a charity (Harry T you there?).

Wild Will..I was thinking the same thing..we could tie in with local Autism charity..oh Harry!!

I just figured out how to post the youtube clip on the event web page and my blog..I love that clip:>) Thanks Wormtown

Robert over at MLK would be a great guy to look into available funding..that is his game..

We need to form a committee on this sooon..year goes by quick..we could have 10,000 in for this next year..get Chandler closed down..food vendors on the street..beer tent..small beer tents in each lot..lot of potential here and a load of fun

WOW !!!!! I am soooooooooo in!
You tell me when you want to get together and Gina and I will be there! We meet with a lawyer later on this week to get the ball rolling on our charity foundation which will primarily fund local autism charities. (and also regional too...i.e. New England)

The name that we picked so far is the Sixth Planet Foundation ...named after Elias' favorite planet, Saturn.

There are some ways to make money and keeep it free for many

* a free portion of the music schedule..tent access to free shows

* a fee concert-maybe a headliner from New Orleans like Dr. John, Irma Thomas of Allen Toissant..just throwing out names I like:>)

* sponsorship from a major business in Central Mass

* food vendors who pay a fee to be on site

* sale of beer & other refreshments-Harpoon would sponsor with beer and maybe money also..I could bring in other refreshment vendors possibly..

I like the free part to an extent..at some point bills need to be paid and money raised for a charity like the one we are discussing..we need help to put on and unless we can get a group to put up 50-75 volunteers we need to pay groups..police details:>)

As long as business is good..I'm in for 5K as a sponsor in 2009..we could possibly get Doug Flutie and his band involved..he is very involved in autism locally.

The possibilities are endless..need to begin yesterday:>)

One stipulation on my part-this stays in this hood:>)

It absolutely stays in da hood! I have a vested interest, my uncle's car repair shop: Taki's Auto on Bellevue Street.

Let's talk...
