So maybe i missed it, but has there been a big lobbying effort to bring back a bookmobile to Worcester after we've been w/o a Bookmobile for 21 years? Frankly, I can think of better ways to spend $$$$. I'd be curious to know how large the drop off in library clientele (excluding hobo's) has been in the last 2 decades, given that much of what is in the library is available right here at our fingertips today.
So is this to be Holy Cross's pilot payment to Worc?
Y'all mark my words this is a well planned quid pro quo for the future College Hill Holy Cross Village in exchange for the free fire station site on Mckeon Rd, the use of Fitton Field for the Tornadoes, and newest freebie a bookmobile. And you can make book on that. See your local convienence store, gas station, packie, or barroom bookie the line.
You can expect HC to be looking for zoning variances, special permits, street closings, and reverse land takings which is when private industry takes from the gov't for free nonetheless.
First up will be a taking by HC of Caro St. Ya see they need to know they can have Caro St, so they'll know how much land they have to work with. They also need Caro St so they can keep up with the Joneses (and the Foley's :)....) over at Clark Univ who just recently grabbed a piece of Downing St.
You dont think HC opened up a new position of Govt relations officer a few years for nothing.....now did ya?
I mean there may be a few drunks up there on Mt St James, but they aint no fools.
Mr Dorman, how would you & the Misses feel if Becker wanted to take a short section of Sever St from the city, to be henceforth known as Severance St?
My lil missy, Kunigunde Cigan and I, Claude P. Dorman have sure had our rows with Becker students over the past decade but we have decided to settle down and try to understand the situation better.
Becker College to the right of us,Becker College to the left of us.....why not Becker College Avenue being the new name for Sever Street......oh what joy:)
