My god , please pull the plug on this!! How about this--- auction off parcels and say Philly Plan:
- taxes will be locked in at purchase price for 10 years
- no permitting fees
- no water/sewer connection fees
Instead we are talking about an application for a grant from the state towork on a marketing plan, some 20 years after we started?? Let me say that again we do not have a marketing plan !!!!!!!! Or business plan and have worked on this for 20+ years and have invested $20 million dollars???
If we change the name of the park, it will make a huge difference.

I am sorry Bill but I got start the week off with a cynical take-off (no pun) on this thread. I will say you succinctly, briefly, and bluntly laid out what is wrong with S. Worc Indus Park.
I shall now attempt the sameas regards teh airport and as Howie Carr would say, to wit:

Answers:
1. Let's just start with the new terminal in 1996 and just call it 16 years they we have worked at making Worc Aiport viable.
2. Cost???..Well the terminal was to the best of my terrible memory $16M or $19M. Then all the paving working at god knows how much cost. And prospectively another $35M in airfield up grades just to land what....? a couple few more flights per week. Also consider the annual operating deficit at about $200,000 per year and God only knows how much it all totals.
3. Jobs created? None, in fact I suggest that possibly jobs have been lost?

If we change the name of the park [ Jahns insertion here... airport to Metrowest Regional Airport], it will make a huge difference.
In closing both of the Jim McGovernment funded new edifices in Worcester..Union Station & the new Airport Terminal are classic example of empty, cavernous boondoggles that are monuments to build it and they will NOT come.
