Another group like ours in Gary, IN http://www.flygary.org.. Small airports like ours, Youngstown, Gary and Portsmouth NH need to band our rescources and recruit airlines as a package... Why not get one mgmt company like TBI, who runs Sanford, come in and take over all these airports. The economies of scale would create savings for all of these small underperforming airports.

This might be a good idea in the future but while we are still trying to get ORH back on its feet, we should utilize the resources of Massport.
agree... In the long term we should realize that small secondary airports in the NorthEast and MidWest have the similar problems and destinations that their catchment areas want to fly to.
Imagine if we had four airports all pursuing one carrier together??
If you look at the economic side of air travel, with Fuel prices and landing fees going up, airlines will be looking for an alternate route. The trick is to get their attention and I think we are headed in the right direction.
What is the latest on the Airport road? We should not give up on the free parking. A proposal should be entered to have a direct shuttle/bus route from Union station to ORH.
I could see small airports like ours run the same route per day on the same plane; but It won't happen as banding together to get carriers to our airports. Look at TBI in Sanford.. What big carrier have they got? PAN AM-DEAD TMA-DEAD VACATION EXPRESS-AWFUL OPERATIONS ALLEGIANT-OKAY
95% British Charters...
I can see airports form a coalition like our airport one's but to see them all pursue the same carrier in different markets won't happen.
Maybe TBI is not the answer.. What about National Express which runs Stewart??
Bottom line, there seems to be some tangible benefits if secondary airports like Gary, Youngstown, Worcester and Portsmouth joined forces. If nothing else we can save monies by sharing the multitude of consultant reports that each airport has stacked away.

Another solution, is to stop hiring consultants!
