This week the Special Finanace District will have alot of "net new revenues" this month. For those of you on the west and north side of Worcester, you know what I mean. Complete devastation in my neighborhood in Holden I simply do not see how there will be power at the earliest the middle of this week.
Yesterday I started making calls to hotels, starting with the Crown Plaza near my office. There was not a hotel to be found but I got lucky and remembered the new Holiday Inn in Auburn and got one of the last rooms. At check in, there were people walking to the counter looking for rooms who were then referred to Dayville, Ct and they took them.
Hope everyone is well.

Does anyone know if the city is on the hook for property damage caused by falling city trees.
Some how I think they are not.
What comes to mind is:
a. an act of god
b. Special municipal exemptions /limited liabilty?
But if my tree falls on my neighbors car......it's a diff. story.
I am out 1 windshield right now and I have no caaaah insurance and my home owners has a Big deductible.
Moral of the Story: Move to Pualies Hood.........no worry about any trees at all.
not true Senor Jahn..I have some nice evergreens in mi yard that I am putting blue Christmas lights on this week..and then next Friday night when Ms. Carol comes down off the top of the hill to visit me we are gonna sip good Italian wine next to them..as my next door neighbors throw their chicken & pork bones out the window:>)
I'm going to put Christmas lights on the pile of branches on my lawn. I think they'll look nice.
Hello fellow bloggaaaaaahs ...
Harry T checking in after almost 80+ hours of no heat & electricity. National Grid came today. I called the 2 linemen "Santa" and "Klaus" and their bucket truck was "Rudolph". Merry Christmas to me !!!! I played the role of 'homeland defense' as I had a generator operating the sump pump and portable heaters to keep the pipes from freezing so hence, was guarding the generator from any potential thieves...
I hope all is well ...
