Sunday Afternoon

The third (Sanford to ORH) and fourth (ORH to Punta Gorda) legs were cancelled yesterday. NOT GOOD!!!! Why? Reason given--weather.

Makes no sense. My concerns about their lack of capital and aggressive growth plan may be coming home to roost. This is not good news at all for ORH and I will try to find out more today..

A plane left Sanford this morning (Monday) at 7:55AM to take these people back to ORH and will most likely pick up the people waiting in Worcester and bring them to Punta Gorda.

Rumor has it that the weather cancellation was actually caused in FLORIDA , not Worcester. Imagine that !! Maybe our luck IS finally turning?

Weather was bad in the Midwest, not in the Northeast. Lets hope you are right and the problem was Sanford not Worcester.

Thanks

The weather here in Florida was very severe yesterday. Tornado warnings all about and many reports of wind damage to homes in Orlando area. Probably not Worcester's fault about the cancellations.

If the problems were in Florida (not saying that they were not) you would think CEO of Direct Air, Judy Tull, would say that and not

“It’s not just Worcester or Direct Air, all the carriers are going into the same northeast weather corridor and all have the same capabilities to take the snow off the runway,”

I read the article with the impression that the problem was NorthEast weather not high winds in Florida?

From The spin doctors at the airport:

"A spokesman at Worcester Regional Airport said the facility was open all day and the flight was the only one affected"

Gee, it's a good thing all those other flights were unaffected.

October 2008 Airport Commission minutes online. Looks like airlines should be able to make a decent profit and gain a foothold for expansion. Looks like great news.
