And by "right" you mean to say massive increases in federal expenditures and deficit spending are how we should run the country? I thought 'less spending' was the maxim of today?

Blog was about how cutting taxes stimualtes the economy. I agree with that and Reagan (and Kennedy) were right.

As far as the Reagan budget deficits. I agree, he did not cut government spending and the deficits grew.

The masims of today need to be less taxation and smaller government.

Nothing is going to happen to gub'mint spending Until all gubmint employes are forced to take an across the baord compensation cut including both wages & benefits.

Short of that our current problems will persist until the money runs out or they printing so money they devalue our dollar. I'll need a wheelbarrow full of money just to be able to afford Beer, Cigs, and car tires from NH.

JFK started all this via executive order that allowed gubmint employees to unionize back in 1961.

Any gubmint employee who does not like the pay cuts, as always is free to leave for greener pastures, including the pastures of Cow Hampshire where toll collectors make 1/2 what they make in Mass-h+le-achusetts.

The raises that gov't employees have enjoyed the last 2 years is an affront to the private sector, middle class employees.

Can someone give me one reason why gubmint employees should not be in the state workmens compensation system or in the social security system?

So I been criss-crossing the area recently quite bit. Today I stop into McD's. I need a coffee and a place to park my ass for short while. The McD's kid tells me any sized cawfee is $1.00. I order one and like a nice customer, I i get out the correct change for him whilst he pours me my late afternoon eye opener...$1.06...right.....WRONG.....$1.0625is not rounded down to $1.06 but up to $1.07.........now I mean that aint the math i was taught when it comes to rounding. Clearly my lack of a St Johns education is catching up with me?????
I know!! I know !!!! it's only 3/4 of a cent..but I am getting raped everytime I turn around. This is a case of its not the money, it the principle.

SO I bite off my nose to spite my face ...... I go down the road a bit and fill up at a Ct. gas station which is more expensive rather than waiting to get home.
Payback is B++++.

Why is Deval calling in the big gun from washington to campaign here for him if the so called polls have deval ahead of Baker Boy by 8 pts?. Something aint right somewhere?

To again steal a anothers oft used phrase, but is it just me or does anyone else sense a nexus between T&G's article(s) on construction industry safety and deaths which result in a relative pittiance of a payment for death and/or disabilty in the private sectoe workmens comp. system......vs......what goes on in the public sector when one has the misfortune of becoming disabled and/or killed in the line of duty.

I mean even look what our military folks get relative to what public sector folks get when tragedy strikes while working in the line of duty. The comparison is a darn shame and we all should be concerned.

I have not had a raise in 5 years (in the private sector).

In fact, my take home pay has been cut by higher premiums for healthcare and higher taxes. All of this while the gub'mint ruling class votes themselves raises. We need people in office that are not doing it for a pension or high pay. People that want to be Civil Servants not POLITICIANS.

People like Paul Franco. :D

Something else I meant to mention lately and I keep forgetting. Maybe this has already been discussed but it relates to the signs ordinance issue(s). SignMan do I have this correct?

Has anyone ever sat in traffic or traveled by a LittLe League field in Worcester lately? Talk about sign pollution..MY GOD. Nothing against LL's but, for openers many fields have the entire length of the outfield fence coverd with what are technically accessory signs. 10, 15, 20, 30+ signs many/most of them made from 4x8 sheets of plywood. The term plywood city applies to more than just boarded up housing! I assume most/all of these are LL supporters/advertisers who often dont even have LL aged kids anymore.

To the best of my knowledge, all these fields are owned by the city.
Once again a case a classic case of do as I say not as I do.

Zoning ord, sign ord, snow shoveling ord, nuisance ord.........the city is exemptt form all of them. Anyone wonder peopel are fed up with the do as I say, not as I do appraoch of our lawmakers/lawbreakers.
