The way I read was that the people who bought the Boston Billiards chain a couple years back have had to declare bankruptcy. I have no doubt that someone else will come in and take over.
Kind of like Irish Times, they are still open but changed owener last year. Sorry for the confusion on my end, but the owner of Boston Billiards most definately has gone out of business but someone else has taken over and has continued the business.
You want to see what hurts businesse in Mass., look no further than Pedones bill on beacon hill that man-dates dry cleaners charge women the same price as men for pressing their blouses. These lawmakers have nothing better to worry about in theses dire times than this kinda baloney. This is like the Somalian pirates worrying about what they are going to wear tomorrow. This sounds like something Rushton or Germain would file.
Then the beacon hill roll call in sundays T&G also says legilsation is pending that would require "entertainment venues to sell clean water at a FAIR price if teh venue prohibits outside food & beverages"............HUH??..like they're going to sell dirty water....WTH??....Baaaaaawstin your my home........"a fair price"
Bill I think for a specail order of Jahngermeiters a fair price would be $5.95 for a 24 case.......whatddaya you think ???
We're going broke and Pedone is concerend about this kinda bunk..?????
As Bill randell would say...........Ya cant make this stuff if ya tried..........i think thats bills line??
easter din din is cooking now and my word verification is ..... "TABLE"....cant maeke this stuff up
time to table the above piece of legislation........ever notice how thses politcal types tend to pick on small, unorganzied businesses like vendor pushcarts and dry cleaners
Actually, Bill, two Boston Billiards locations, one of which is in Worcester, were purchased from the Mathias organization before any of this bankruptcy action was taken. The business in Worcester has neither closed, nor has it suffered any setbacks other than the negative effect of a T&G article that was pathetically inaccurate and just plain wrong.
Kurt Mathias, the former owner, was the first to comment on the T&G story, pointing out how utterly inaccurate and wrong it was in its reporting. The next commenter to the story was the people who had purchased the two locations, one of which is in Worcester. The Worcester location was successfully sold because it's a viable operation. The rest of the chain, the unviable and unsold locations, is going down the tubes under Mathias' personal bankruptcy.
The T&G couldn't have gotten that story any more wrong. They screwed up completely in the way it was reported.
Boston Billiards in Worcester has neither failed, nor has it closed. It doesn't belong on the list.
I would love to turn the useless airport site into a suburban type development with wind turbines powering the place. Close the airport. Let Prov, Manchester and Boston do our commercial jets. The Worcester Airport is a complete waste of taxpayer money. It is Worcester's trying to saving some bygone, once glorious past. Cut your losses and get into something else. Heinrich

Boston Billiards isn't closing. The story in yesterday's paper was so completely inaccurate that I ended up having to post twice about it.

I never would have read the story like that. Thanks for the clarification.

I came across this in my research and found it worth sharing
Reading the caption under the image, I wonder if the general population assumes the airport is not even operational at this point?
