Makes sense. Look at any heat map of the area and you'll see ward 9 is very heavy with republicans, or at the very least unenrolled who donate republican. Add that to Paxton and a well organized candidate with a solid message could build a nice base.
I just hope it's a good race with actual issues, and not a neighborhood popularity contest.
Confirmed, I was told there was something in WoMag. Add in the fact that I question how unified the Democratic party will be with , what was the latest count on people running? 6 or is it 7
Rosalie Tirell spent a whole show talking about those developers who just want to make money...we really do not care for Worcester and it's poor..
I have a question for you Senor Jahn...when did Worcester start to become so mediocre? When did it start accepting so little of it's people? A city so rich in American history..contributed so much to it's rise now expects so little from the community...
Senor' Paulie, IMO the Worc demographics started heading south in the early to mid 80's.
Not sure which came first..........the demise of the manufacturng base or the arrival of NOLO occupants.
I do not blame the city of Worc for the demise of the manufacturing base. Its a nationwide phenomenon.
We need to just board up these old factories or raze them and grass over the site. It would have been less expensive for the taxpayers if the City just bought the old piano factory at May and Main St and mothballed it or razed it.
46 units there...say just 1 kid per unit goes into the school system at about $12,500 per head per year. That alone is $600,000 and there is no way that place will contribute $600,000 in taxes to the city coffers annually. My guesstimate would be about $75,000 to $100,000 annually.
Then it's rumored that Worc Common Grd is recruiting NOLOS from the greater Boston area to live there. Keep those types in Slummerville....just kidding !!!!!!!!
I do applaud your efforts in the Village of Piedmont. I always admired the your house years ago....before I even knew of you and Buddy. The painted colors stood out nicely.
Paulie, is the Mason St site shoveled from the last storm(s) of 2 weeks ago?
Once again....my 2nd word verification: Castero....donde' Fidel?

Mr Moderator with all due respect, it's not Spellanes seat, it's the people's seat [g].
Mr. Spellan(Democrat-Unibank) did resign that seat .....right?? So....... he must be navigating for a new job now?
So..........is Palmieri still running for a Beacon Hill seat, too. There's musical chairs and there is musical homes.
