JAHN made a comment yesterday about other management companies, not just MassPort. I agree, we have been saying for two years (recommendation #13 on http://www.flyorh.com) to put together an RFP to solicit bids from airport management companies. Instead we paid IMG $100,000 for a study and they told us that nobody would be interested. The IMG report went further and recommended that we extend the current agreement and depicted MassPort picking up 68% (the current percentage) of the operating deficit.
Wouldn't it have made more sense to find out for ourselves, rather then just take IMG's word for it?? Guess who runs Sanford Orlando Airport?? Answer: TBI Airport Management. Guess who runs Stewart International?? National Express. In other words it would have been nice to have airport management companies like TBI or National Express come to ORH. Right now we are out of time--one year is going to fly by...
It will take all our efforts and strength to convince MassPort to buy ORH.

It’s been nearly a year since I wrote about the problems that come from
having 11 bosses who are not on the same page about anything, as well as

as much as I would like to see Massport purchase ORH, I just don't see it happening...we need to look into other management companies....if we extend the current agreement, we are screwed...we go nowhere for another 6 years
Massport thinks they're the only game in town, so they can make whatever measly offer they choose, and Worcester has no choice but to accept.
If the city entertains other offers (such as TBI or National Express) Massport would be forced to sweeten their offer, or risk losing control of ORH.
Can WIP contact these management companies and invite them to visit Worcester, like they did with Jetblue?
Its great explanation about Airport Management
and its how to benefits-
