"This is a disruptive airplane," said Michael Boyd of The Boyd Group, an Evergreen, Colo., aviation consulting firm. "If it does what it's supposed to do at the price it advertises, it will make obsolete a whole slew of existing airplanes."

Herp, of Linear Air, says simple economics justifies the business model. To book a last-minute coach seat from Boston to Elmira, N.Y., on a commercial airline - with a layover in Newark, N.J., - costs $680 per person or around $2,700 for a group of four, he said. Linear Air will charge that same group $3,000 for better service and a direct flight, he said. "We've got more business than we can handle right now," Herp said

Off topic, but whatever happened to Airport Commission agenda for June 2006. Can't even access it on Worcester City Web page. Only May 2006 last report available.
Paul:
The airport liaison will not release the minutes of a meeting until they are approved at the next meeting. In other words the June minutes have to wait until the July meeting, which was on July 31st. Last Tuesday or Wednesday (after the July meeting), I asked the airport liaison to e-mail the minutes but I have not received them yet.
Hopefully next week (the second week in August), we will get the June minutes. Do you think there will be anything on any negotiations with airlines????

Have you discussed this with the DA? They are not permitted to do this under the open meeting law. They may mark them as DRAFT, b ut they cannot withold them
Charley:
Clearly this is a violation of the open meeting laws. The board minutes could be released prior to a vote the next month by the board, merely (as you mentioned) marking them as DRAFT.
At the same time I think the DA's office has better things to do. I will, however, remind our airport liaison of this fact.
Thanks
Bill
