Lebanon, New Hamshire Airport

Same here as Hyannis. Colgan Air, as a US Air connection, flies 3 times per day between Lebanon (http://www.flyleb.com) and LaGuardia. Guess what else this small airport offers:

  1. Free Parking
  2. Free Wireless
  3. Great web page

Over and over again we find that small secondary airports that achieve any level of success has these three common characteristics. In the past, we blogged about this before but it is worth a review. In addition to the above three assets, Lebanon utilizes their Small Community Air Service Grant to give rebates back to people who actually fly out of their airport, versus speding over $200,ooo to IMG.

Here it the link and short description:

Lebanon Airport is paying YOU to fly LEB.

Fly one roundtrip, get $50 back!

Fly three roundtrips, get $250 back!

Fly five roundtrips, get $500 back!

Save your roundtrip boarding passes, fill out a rebate brochure (also available in the lobby of the Lebanon Airport) and mail it to the airport. Within weeks, you'll receive your cash rebate. This offer can even be combined with friends, family members and coworkers. A family of five can fly once from LEB and receive their cash-back bonus of $500! Students traveling with friends can pool their roundtrip ticket stubs and split the cash!
See the program's rules or call Lebanon Airport at (603) 298-8878 for more information about this great offer!

Why haven't we actively pursued Festival Airlines?

We may have??? The truth is we have no idea the status of any negotiations. Check out the monthly board minutes, there is no mention of any airline negotiations or the corresponding status??? How can that be when we have spent $100,000 on a study an additional $100,000 to help us recruit an airline to IMG??

Since there is no mention of any of this in any of the board minutes, we can only assume that it is not brought up during meetings. Evidently this must be discussed in private outside the public meetings, a clear violation of the open meeting rules.

Excellent point!

The Youngstown blog makes a good point that they can not disclose who management are talking to regarding different airlines. Letting out the different airlines targeted may deter another airline from showing interest.

The point here is that it is a public asset, not a private business. Lets for arguements sake, say we are in negotiations with Mesa Air hypothetically to fly a shuttle to JFK. How would this deter another airline from showing interest?? If anything it may create more interest.
