I am sorry, but here goes again Tom Bona and the Rockford Register and the Rockford Airport Miles Ahead Program. This is what you call thinking out of the box, we should have spent monies from the DOT Small Community Air Service Grant on a program like this not on IMG. Here is a small part of the story:
In the latest promotion at the airport, travelers who buy tickets in person Tuesday and Wednesday for select dates will get between $36 and $100 cash back for each ticket.Travel must be between Thursday and March 31. There are certain blackout dates on each of the airport’s six regular routes.Travelers must be a part of the airport’s MilesAhead rewards program. They can join at the airport by providing an e-mail address. If they don’t have an e-mail address, airport staff will help them get one through free sites such as Yahoo! or Gmail.

It’s been nearly a year since I wrote about the problems that come from
having 11 bosses who are not on the same page about anything, as well as

We are fortunate to have not only Bob O Brien but also a solid airport authority board that is not afraid to try calculated risks and look ahead to the future. RFD is slowly but surely getting there.
On a side note, it is too bad that an airline like the current Pan Am can not get its act together. Their current management is arguably THE worst in all of the aviation industry. If managed properly, Pan Am could be a real asset and service to places like Worcester, Youngstown, Rockford, Elmira NY, and others especially to east coast destinations.
There is a topic on Airliners.net about service to Worcester. Nothing really new but it is nice to see ORH discussed.
So City Sq sees all teh hand outs to The Hand It Over Theatre..........they figure WTH............we should see what else we can squeeze the City for..........
market rate housing in downtown would sure be nice.....but it will be along time in coming (if ever) if all the city ever does is continue to allow non profit community groupss to squeeze squeeze 100 units of low income housing onto sites meant to handle 20 or 30 such units of housing....... witness South Worc Neighborhood center and Cambridge St..........Worc Common Ground and Mason St..........and Worc Common Ground and Kingsbury St.............
keep building low income housing and see what kinda city we end up with.......people who cannot afford a $99 ticket to Orlando
Whats next.............these non profits go into the food business and open grocery stores next door to Price Copper and Shaws..........afterall low income folks need food too
