I am a huge believer that this airport can be huge to the ecnomy of Worcester, but some of the numbers in this study are incredibly hard to believe. Matter of fact they are impossible.
The study released by the Department of Transportation said the airport supports 418 jobs and has an annual economic benefit to the tune of $51.4 million.

Bill, you're forgetting the amount of money spent on studies and the number of people employed researching those studies.
Those studies easily account for half of these numbers.
Notice he doenst list the 418 jobs.
What Does "Support" 418 jobs mean an dare they fulltime of part time jobs. If they pave a runway and a paving crew of 7 work at the jobsite and 10 more truckers are employed delivering the material to the job and 2 men mnaufacture the asphalt back at the plant...doesthat = 19 (7+10+2) jobs supported
And the study encompassed Fitchburg, Gardner, Marlboro airports. Are these Worc airports peers??
Lastly dare ias how the $51M figure was calculated.
I missed it when I read the article, was this Mass DOT or Fed'l DOT?
