To steal a phrase from some one else, "is it just me" or is anyone else sick of running to the phone these last few weeks only to hear the voice of some Dumbo-crat soliciting my vote.

When congress passed the law re telephone solicitations a few years back they specifically exepmted politcal type calls and non profits. I belirve they also expempted others such as utilities and gov't entities, but more for emeregency or public service type calls.

Why in gods name should politicians be exempted. These calls are the pesty fly in my kitchen in the middle of July. I just cant thwack them out of existence. Once again we have laws that are meant for others but never for gov't or politicians.

Can you imagine if Bill Randell started getting marketing or solicitation calls from the likes of non profits like Main South CDC or Worc Common Grd, as these are non profits that are exempt from telemarketing calls.

"Hello, Mr. Randall....ooopsss soory I mean Mr Randell, good afternoon sir, this Steve Commons and could I interest you a Cambridge St Condo or some slighty used sewer line for your next building project?"

I can see the steam emanating from Bill's ears now...!!!!!!

To steal another phrase " Seriously " this crap has to stop.

What about someone who works 11-7 and has to keep his phones ringer on at all times in the event of a call from his elderly/frail/sick parent(s). The pesky pols (no pun) awake the poor guy at 600pm at nighht just as hes' in his 2nd hour of daily sleep so he can be bright eyed and bushy tailed for his 11-7 shift that night.

If i ever get a call from Havan jim Mc Govern he's going to really need a Dept of Peace.....cuz I am going to want a piece of him...............just kidding.....!!!!!!!!

Pualie have you calledt he Dept of Peace about happeneings at 224 Chandler? You could use some peace and quiet huh???

Mr Robert Nemth opines today ( Dec 6th) re: PIP shelters eventual closing.

1. A three year time line for ending homelessness. Surely most us do not believe this? If the objective is not met do all the people involved in what I will call the "homeless coalition" get fired? Lines should not be drawn in the sand so if at the end of 3 yrs they are close to ending homelessmss Ill give em 4th years. Fair enuff?? What non profit in their right mind wants to end homelessness when it in effect it will end their funding and their jobs?

2. Rather than FIRST (THAT's First) gettign these folks clean and sober we're going to place them in housing in city neighborhoods when they are still stoned, coked, and boozed up. Me thinks they got the jackass in front of the 2 wheeled wagon. 15 tenants at scattered units across the city. Dare I ask how many sites and where?? D-4 brace yourself and be prepared to start asking for property tax abatements. Paulie can you get an abatement based on #224's behavior. SO how was last night at Piedmont heights?

3. PIP to be closed early next year(2010). I'll bet City Sq is commenced b4 PIP is closed and if it is not closed whose head(s) are going to roll?

4. MR Nemeth calls The Spencer House (1st PIP spinoff) on Elm St near the Worc Club "an upscale neighborhood on Elm St". Surely he jests?? Assuming a neighborhood encompases many blocks, I suggest MR. Nethem drive the immediate area and observe the "upscale Neighborhood" The Worcester Club does knot an upscale neighborhood make. Sorry but this just goes to show how clueless adn uninformred about Worcs neighborhoods some people are.

5. They are aiming to absorb UP TO 75%(Thats up to) OF THE piP'S clientele...and the remaining 25%+ will be handled/ go exactly where?

6. Plans are to reduce to 25 beds at teh PIP by sometime next year, yet in the 1st paragraph they claim they plan on phasing out the PIP on a timetable...yet no mention of what the timetable is?

7. they plan on opening an assessemnt center (with beds?) DEPENDING (that's depending) on the availablity $2.3M in stimulsu dineros? And if the less then 2.3M comes through or nothing comes through, then what. "PIP will not close until the (assesmtn)center is open." So if money isnt there to biild the assessment center..then PIP stays open.......only on a lesser scale (25 beds). So We'll still have THE PIP, only a scaled down version?????

8. "Many details have yet to be worked out?" Priceless. This committe reminds me of Congress and Health care.

9. Morale of the story, if you and your commissioners cannot set policy and govern an airport.............then just get a gig on the local Homeless/PIP committee. You claim victory by making sure none of "the scatttered Sites" are west of Park Avenue.

If I ever presented a loop hole ladened plan like this to any of my bossses after 2+ years of work & study......I'd be terminated, beheaded, & drawn and quartered.

SO BTW do we still discuss ORH at all in here? I aint heard or scene nuttin' on this topic for how long now?
