Wasn't Delta Connection already at the airport 6 or 7 years ago?
I think it would be interesting to see a list of all the airlines that were at Worcester, their length of time spent at Worcester, and why they left. The reason I say this is because we need to keep Allegiant.
We need to know what other airlines are in the mix.
I think airlines are hesitant to make a commitment due to the uncertainty of the future management structure (Will it be Massport, the City?) I know there are a lot of other factors involved, but the clock is ticking and I think this time the pork barrel is empty.

The airline industry changes very fast... Not sure what airlines have been here in the past may help..

It just seems to me that JetBlue/Delta are going to be battling for customers from the Northeast to fly to their hubs, which both happen to be JFK.

Now I read how Delta Connection Carrier, Mesa Air, on March 7, 2006, announced the expansion of its Delta Connection arrangement with the addition of 12 Dash-8 aircraft. The Dash-8 aircraft will commence operations in New York - JFK in July 2006.

By the way I Dash-8 seats 37 so it would be ideal for a secondary city shuttle to JFK.

By the way I recall Delta Connection carrier, ASA, actually had decent passenger loads out of ORH. They dropped the route because the company itseld was in trouble.

In fact, they were bought out by SkyWest.

There was an article in the Telegram awhile back when the Allegiant service was announced about ORH's past failed commercial airlines.

There were dozens, of which most left due to lack of passengers and/or bankruptcies. In 1.5 years, between 2001 and 2003, ORH lost 4 airlines (U.S. Air Express, American Eagle, Delta (ASA), PanAm).

I believe SkyWest is worth a reasonable shot.

Skybus is a legit startup very much like DJ Air (737 or A320) that has been talking to ORH. Skybus, like DJ was, is serious in every respect and it looks like it has reached the promised land regarding funding.

The difference b/t DJ and Skybus is that DJ was always very warm & accomodating while Skybus' management is very crude & demanding.
